Worsley Cricket Club was founded in 1846 by the 1st Earl Ellesmere as one of the ways of improving the lot of his estate workers and those involved in building St Mark’s Church. Apart from during WW1 cricket has been played on the ground continuously in both a friendly and competitive capacity. The club has had two other grounds but has been on its current delightful plot just through the trees off Walkden Road since the late 1800’s.
We have 3 senior teams in the Greater Manchester Cricket League (GMCL). If fancy getting involved senior training is on Tuesday nights 18:30 - 20:00 with coach Alexis Newby.
We also have a thriving junior section in the GMCL and Salford League playing competitive cricket from under 9's to under 15's. If your kid fancies getting involved junior training is on Friday night 18:00 - 20:00. On training nights there is also the Wildcats which is for under 7's to get their first taste of cricket!
Membership is open to everyone whether you are interested in playing competitively or not, everyone is welcome at our family based club!
